Robert_HyndmanWelcome to Brookfield School’s website. I hope you enjoy using it to learn more about us.  Our school is a place where students have a sense of belonging in a supportive climate for learning. Click on the Education Review Office report to learn more.

Brookfield School is small for a city school (210 – 250 children).

This allows us to get to know one another well and create a family atmosphere which is valued by our community. We celebrate or cultural diversity and value the contribution made by all cultures represented at our school.

In partnership with parents and the community we do all we can to help children value learning and become lifelong learners. Lifelong learners are creative and enterprising people. They have a future focus and are skilled in using new technologies.  They are confident, with sound social skills that enable them to be connected to the community. We want our children to grow to become caring contributors to society.

The staff at Brookfield School are passionate about learning, their own learning as well as children’s learning. We have been focussing on improving student outcomes in literacy and numeracy and are now moving to a focus on how information and communication technology (ICT) can contribute to learning outcomes. We have recently installed data projectors and interactive technologies in our classrooms and our next investment will be around teacher professional development in this area.

It is our aim to set high expectations and to ensure each child is performing to the best of their ability in their quest to become life long learners.
