Whānau Engagement

"Engagement increases when school leaders have vision and are committed to working in partnership with the parents and whānau of all students." (tki.org.nz)

Whānau hui, Term 2, 2022

Whānau / Family engagement is extremely important to us at Te Kura o Manunui. Working together as a team, we will empower our tamariki to reach their highest personal potential. Together we will provide high-quality programmes which will set our tamariki up for success.

Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.
Success is not the work of an individual, but the work of many.

Each term we have two school wide whānau/family hui.  These hui (meetings) are around sharing ideas and contributing to discussions to help positively shape the way we do things for our tamariki at Te Kura o Manunui / Brookfield School.

We communicate these hui in several ways: paper notices, various school Facebook pages, school newsletters, texts to parents, whānau and caregivers, Seesaw and face to face.

Since Covid-19 schools all around Aotearoa / New Zealand have changed the way of working with whānau.  Our school is determined to bring our whānau back into the school.  We are looking at re-establishing groups within the kura.

If you are interested in starting up or being a part of any of the following groups in our kura please email the office.

  • Coach Club - those that want to be a coach of a school sports team email:   office@tkom.school.nz
  • Working Bee
  • Volunteer reading and maths support
  • Parents Teachers Association
  • Mana Aotūroa / Play Based support
